Contessa Riggs

Contessa joined Legal Aid Justice Center in April 2017. Prior to joining the LAJC team, she was the Planner for Homeless Services for Prince George’s County, MD where she worked extensively with local and Federal government, community stakeholders, and non-profits on strategies to decriminalize and end homelessness. Prior to her stint in government work, Contessa spent 14 years as the Executive Director of a non-profit dedicated to helping DC-area homeless people create stable lives through temporary shelter, employment, education, and emergency supports. She received her B.A. from Goucher College and her M.F.A. from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
