Abigail Marshak

Abbey joined the Legal Aid Justice Center in December 2025. As a Senior Litigation Attorney, Abbey helps develop, execute, and support major litigation carried out by LAJC’s six programs. Prior to joining LAJC, Abbey was a Senior Trial Attorney in the Housing and Civil Enforcement Section of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, which she joined through the Attorney General’s Honors Program and where she worked for ten years. There, Abbey litigated cases to combat discrimination in housing, lending, and land use. Before DOJ, Abbey clerked for the Honorable Ronna Lee Beck on the D.C. Superior Court and worked as a US Program Associate at Human Rights Watch. Abbey earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a Public Interest Law Scholar, and her B.A. from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor.
