Take Action: Keep Armed Officers Out of Pre-K Classrooms

Tell the Criminal Justice Services Board to keep potentially armed and minimally trained officers out of pre-Kindergarten classrooms.

James City County is requesting state grant funding to place School Security Officers (SSOs), former police officers permitted to carry firearms in schools, in two new pre K centers.

Our youngest learners deserve safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environments, not armed policing.
