Eveling Renteria

Eveling is originally from Cali, Colombia. After earning her law degree and a postgraduate degree in medical law, she worked in the private sector focusing on malpractice cases. During law school, she was part of a legal clinic that provided free assistance to low-income individuals on diverse matters such as divorces, constitutional protection actions (“tutelas”), and formal requests to government entities (“derechos de petición”). That experience sparked her passion for community service and advocacy, which continues to guide her work today.

In 2021, she came to the United States through a cultural exchange program—an experience that strengthened her commitment to cross-cultural understanding and service. Now, as an Immigration Paralegal at LAJC, Eveling supports immigrant communities through legal assistance and empowerment initiatives.

Outside of work, she enjoys salsa and ballet dancing, sewing, working out, and reading.
