Gloria Akol
Gloria is joining LAJC as a part-time organizer. She recently graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Philosophy and a B.A. in Politics with a concentration in Foreign Affairs. At UVA, she served for two years as Co-Director of UVA Mutual Aid, a student-led organization providing emergency grants and resources to the Charlottesville community. She also worked as an Outreach Intern for UVA’s Multicultural Student Services and served as Social Media Chair for undocUVA, a student organization advocating for undocumented communities in Charlottesville and beyond. In addition, she was a Racial Equity Intern with Arlington County’s Department of Human Services, where she conducted research on housing inequalities to help improve the county’s Continuum of Care.
