Luis joined the Immigrant Advocacy Program in 2018 as an organizer. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, he has been a Virginia resident for over 10 years and has been involved in many grassroots organizing efforts in that time period. These efforts have ranged from immigrant solidarity work, to supporting low-income resident advocacy in Charlottesville, solidarity with Black Lives Matter, and organizing with the Living Wage campaign at UVA.
