Antes de unirse a LAJC, Andrea fue becaria del programa \u00abPrisoners\u2019 Rights Dunn Legal Fellowship\u00bb en la ACLU de Virginia, donde llev\u00f3 casos en defensa de los reclusos de Virginia. Antes de trabajar en Virginia, Andrea fue abogada en la Prison Policy Initiative, donde colabor\u00f3 en campa\u00f1as para acabar con la manipulaci\u00f3n de los distritos electorales en las prisiones y para reducir el coste de las llamadas a casa desde prisiones y c\u00e1rceles.
