Formada como abogada de derechos civiles, pas\u00f3 casi nueve a\u00f1os en el Comit\u00e9 de Abogados de Washington para los Derechos Civiles y Asuntos Urbanos (WLC) supervisando a un equipo de abogados, personal de apoyo jur\u00eddico y un defensor, as\u00ed como gestionando una activa lista de casos individuales y colectivos de vivienda justa presentados ante tribunales federales y estatales y algunos asuntos de condiciones y protecci\u00f3n del consumidor. En su trabajo, Catherine se centra constantemente en las comunidades de clientes de color a trav\u00e9s de un marco de abogac\u00eda del movimiento. Antes de trabajar en el WLC, Catherine fue secretaria de la Honorable Anna Blackburne-Rigsby, actual Presidenta del Tribunal de Apelaciones del Distrito de Columbia (DCCA), que en aquel momento ejerc\u00eda como Jueza Asociada del DCCA, donde se ocupaba de los asuntos administrativos, civiles, penales y \u00e9ticos que llegaban al tribunal.     <\/p>\n\n<p>Catherine es licenciada por la Universidad de Duke y doctora en Derecho por el Washington College of Law de la American University. Mientras estudiaba Derecho, Catherine fund\u00f3 ADVANCE, un programa de tutor\u00eda para estudiantes de Derecho de primera generaci\u00f3n. Prest\u00f3 m\u00e1s de una d\u00e9cada de servicio al Colegio de Abogados Hispanos del Distrito de Columbia antes de incorporarse al LAJC.
