 Antes de trabajar en el LAJC, prest\u00f3 sus servicios al Estado de Virginia como funcionario judicial, ejerci\u00f3 la abogac\u00eda tribal en un bufete privado de Portland (Oreg\u00f3n), trabaj\u00f3 en una organizaci\u00f3n sin \u00e1nimo de lucro dedicada a la diplomacia ciudadana en Washington, D.C., imparti\u00f3 clases de primaria en Honduras y viaj\u00f3 a dedo por Centroam\u00e9rica y Sudam\u00e9rica.&nbsp;
