Antes de trabajar en el LAJC, fue asistente de programas en un instituto teol\u00f3gico para j\u00f3venes. En 2020, Yohance pas\u00f3 a trabajar como organizador en el Programa de Derechos Civiles y Justicia Racial, donde lucha junto a miembros de la comunidad para desmantelar los sistemas que encarcelan a las personas de color y a los pobres. A trav\u00e9s de sus experiencias, ha desarrollado una fuerte fe en la capacidad de las comunidades oprimidas para dar forma a la ley y transformar la sociedad, empezando por sus barrios.
