Estudi\u00f3 en la Universidad de Georgia, donde se licenci\u00f3 en espa\u00f1ol y desarroll\u00f3 su pasi\u00f3n por trabajar con poblaciones hispanohablantes. Marissa se gradu\u00f3 en la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad W&amp;L en 2020, donde recibi\u00f3 el Premio de Educaci\u00f3n Jur\u00eddica Cl\u00ednica por la excelencia de su trabajo en la Cl\u00ednica de Derechos de los Inmigrantes. Durante sus estudios de Derecho, Marissa fue becaria de verano del Programa de Defensa de los Inmigrantes del LAJC en la oficina de Charlottesville.
