Ha trabajado durante cinco a\u00f1os como navegadora biling\u00fce certificada en espa\u00f1ol con Enroll Virginia y un a\u00f1o como especialista en inscripciones con el sistema Inova Health en la Partnership for Healthier Communities. En este trabajo, se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como educadora biling\u00fce no partidista que ayud\u00f3 a los consumidores con las solicitudes al Mercado, la selecci\u00f3n del plan de salud, las apelaciones, la educaci\u00f3n continua sobre c\u00f3mo utilizar el seguro de salud y las solicitudes de Medicaid\/FAMIS. Ruth ha organizado talleres sobre atenci\u00f3n sanitaria en la comunidad y ha participado en entrevistas en los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n locales para promover la inscripci\u00f3n y la educaci\u00f3n sanitaria. Tambi\u00e9n form\u00f3 asociaciones con distintas organizaciones comunitarias y particip\u00f3 en grupos de coalici\u00f3n.
