Actualmente estudiante de 3er a\u00f1o en la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Virginia, Salas fue nombrado 13\u00ba beneficiario de la Beca Powell de la Facultad de Derecho. <\/p>\n<p>La beca financiar\u00e1 un puesto en nuestra oficina de Charlottesville, donde Salas ha dise\u00f1ado un plan para ayudar a los ni\u00f1os discapacitados y a sus familias a alcanzar sus objetivos educativos, as\u00ed como a prepararse para la vida despu\u00e9s de la escuela. \u00abMi proyecto me permitir\u00e1 representar a los padres en las reuniones de planificaci\u00f3n de la educaci\u00f3n especial y abogar por mejores servicios de educaci\u00f3n especial que se centren m\u00e1s en esa transici\u00f3n a la vida despu\u00e9s de dejar la escuela\u00bb, dijo Salas. <\/p>\n<p>Salas ha trabajado como voluntario cientos de horas con el Centro de Justicia de Asistencia Jur\u00eddica desde que empez\u00f3 la carrera de Derecho, incluido tiempo con el Programa JustChildren. Tambi\u00e9n curs\u00f3 la Cl\u00ednica de Defensa del Menor el a\u00f1o pasado y pas\u00f3 un semestre adicional realizando un proyecto independiente con el profesor Andrew Block el pasado oto\u00f1o.
