\"Equipo<\/a>Edgar Coker s\u00f3lo ten\u00eda 15 a\u00f1os cuando, por consejo de un abogado de oficio, se declar\u00f3 culpable de la violaci\u00f3n de una vecina de 14 a\u00f1os y se le orden\u00f3 registrarse como delincuente sexual para el resto de su vida. La testigo denunciante se retract\u00f3 dos meses despu\u00e9s. Sin embargo, hicieron falta siete a\u00f1os, varios abogados, docenas de estudiantes de derecho y un viaje al Tribunal Supremo de Virginia para eliminar el nombre de Edgar Coker del registro de delincuentes sexuales. El 10 de febrero, la juez Jane Marum Roush dict\u00f3 una orden anulando su condena debido a la asistencia constitucionalmente ineficaz prestada por su abogado en el juicio. El caso es un inquietante recordatorio de por qu\u00e9 nuestros j\u00f3venes necesitan desesperadamente una representaci\u00f3n altamente cualificada y motivada en los tribunales de menores. <\/p>\n
